This portal will request your abstract be submitted using the abstract template; and if your abstract is accepted, you will need to prepare your full paper using the paper template.

SUBMISSION TERMS & CONDITIONS

All speakers agree to the following presenter terms and conditions when submitting an abstract: 

1. You must read and agree to all the information provided in the ‘MetPlant Guide to Authors’ document (click here to download).

2. You must submit your abstract via the portal with all the required accompanying information in the correct format. Failure to do so will result in the abstract not being accepted.

3. You may wish to select one or more themes for your abstract, however please be aware that the Organising Committee will make the final determination on themes and timing of presentations.

4. If your abstract is accepted, you must follow the instructions provided by the Convenor or PCO. 

5. You may submit a Poster abstract if you do not wish to write a full paper.

6. The Committee also reserves the right to offer Printed Poster options to authors where the abstract is not accepted into the final program. 

7. Posters must be printed by the Author/s on AO paper in portrait layout and it is the responsibility of the Author/s to stand by their Printed Posters during breaks in the Exhibition Area (Delegates will be encouraged to visit and discuss with Authors). 

8. Your full paper (first draft and subsequent edited drafts through to the final approved paper) must be emailed to the MetPlant Conference Convenor at janine@metval.com.au with a COVERING LETTER with the title of the paper, the name(s) of author(s) and the name of a contact person with full postal address, mobile number and email address.

9. You must provide confirmation that the publication has been approved by all relevant companies where technical content or discussion refers to specific operations or physical or intellectual properties of those companies.

10. Failure to use the paper template correctly will result in the paper being returned to the lead author and may result in your paper not being accepted into the final program.

11. Where possible, please have a colleague or Executive Assistant proof-read your paper in full before emailing it to the Convenor.  Please utilise the spell check function in Word and ensure it is correctly formatted.

12. A PowerPoint template for your presentation will be supplied once your full paper has been submitted.

13. You are encouraged to submit your PowerPoint a week before the start of the conference and instructions on how to do this will be provided.

14. The presentation length is subject to change but, as a guide, presentations will be 10 to 20 minutes in length and Keynotes will be 20 to 30 minutes.

15. The length your presentation has been assigned will be communicated to the presenting Author/s well ahead of the conference commencement.

16. Failure to obtain a Visa will not constitute grounds for refund of any fees paid to the event. If you require a letter of invitation to assist with your application, please email register@ccm.com.au once you have paid for your conference registration.

17. Presentations will all be face-to-face. Any virtual presentation request is subject to approval by the Conference Convenor.

18. It is a requirement that all paper(s) accepted for presentation must be delivered at the event by an author who has registered and paid a full-event delegate registration fee and has done so by or before the stipulated registration date. Abstract/s and presentations of authors who fail to comply with this registration requirement will be deleted from the program without notice.

19. You must obtain permission from the Convenor to have more than one presenter. A maximum of two (2) presenters are permitted provided both presenters have registered and paid full-event delegate registration fees by or before the stipulated registration date.

20. All presentations are made available on an on-demand basis post-event. Typically, presentations are available for three (3) months post-event, commencing fourteen (14) days after the conclusion of the event. All author(s) give permission for the presentation to be recorded and available on-demand.

21. All Speaker materials submitted must be of original quality.

22. Speaker Materials are owned by the Speaker and these Terms do not transfer ownership of the Speaker Materials.

23. The Speaker grants to MetPlant a non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual licence (with a right to sub-licence) to use, reproduce, modify and/or adapt (without substantial material impact to the content), publish (including online) and otherwise utilise the Speaker Materials for the purpose of creating conference content relating to the Event, including publication on the website and in the digital library.

24. The Speaker acknowledges that MetPlant is the owner of all Recordings and the Speaker assigns all rights, title and interest (including copyright subsisting to the Recordings) in the Recordings (Assigned Recording Material). This assignment operates as an assignment of future copyright to the extent that the Assigned Recording Materials are not in existence at the date the Speaker accepts these Terms.

25. MetPlant grants the Speaker a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use and reproduce the Recordings for the Speaker’s personal and non-commercial use.

26. The Speaker warrants that, to the best of their knowledge, the use or exploitation of the Speaker Materials and the Assigned Recording Material in any manner does not, and will not, infringe any person’s rights in the Speaker Materials and the Assigned Recording Material (including intellectual property rights and moral rights).

27. The Speaker indemnifies MetPlant (its employees and personnel) against all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, fines, expenses and costs (including legal costs), incurred in connection with any third party claim that the Speaker Materials or Assigned Recording Materials (or their provision or use) infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights or other rights.

28. If the Speaker is unable to present at the Event and wishes to provide an alternative representative, all provisions within these Terms and Conditions apply to the alternative representative
