Turning the "Purple Transition" into a Successful Action Plan for the Extractive Sector

with Simon Michaux

Simon Michaux is a researcher in industrial systems and mining. He has worked in academia, private sector and government organisations. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics & Geology and a PhD in Mining Engineering from the JKMRC within the University of Queensland. He has more than 20 years in the Australian mining industry in research and development, including working at Ausenco, and three years in Belgium at the University of Liege researching the Circular Economy and industrial recycling. His primary goals are to understand and develop solutions to the twin challenges of phasing out fossil fuels and the sustainable sourcing of resources.
