Summary

MetPlant 2026 Tour Booking Terms

The following terms must be agreed to by any person booking participation in a MetPlant post conference tours. 

The tour operator is MetVal Consulting Pty Ltd.  

1. Booking & Payment

  • A booking is confirmed once full payment has been received and unpaid bookings may be cancelled.
  • The person making the booking accepts responsibility for the participants they book. 

2. Cancellations by the Traveller

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
  • Cancellation fees apply as follows:
    • More than 14 days before departure: refund less administration fee of AUD $500
    • Less than 14 days before departure: no refund but substitution is welcome
  • No refunds are provided for unused services, early departures, or no shows.

3. Cancellations or Changes by the Operator

  • The operator may modify the itinerary due to safety, weather, mine site operational requirements, or supplier availability.
  • If the operator cancels the tour, travellers may choose:
    • A full refund, or
    • Credit to the full value of payment to attend a future MetPlant conference or event
  • The operator is not responsible for additional costs incurred by travellers (e.g., flights, visas, accommodation).

4. Traveller Responsibilities

  • Travellers must ensure they are physically and medically fit to participate, including walking on uneven ground, climbing stairs, and wearing PPE.
  • Any medical conditions, mobility limitations, or special requirements must be disclosed at the time of booking.
  • Travellers must comply with all instructions from tour leaders, mine site personnel, and safety officers.
  • The operator may remove any traveller whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or impacts the experience or safety of others.

5. Safety, PPE & Site Access

  • Access to mine sites is strictly controlled. Entry is subject to:
    • Completion of required safety briefings or inductions
    • Compliance with PPE requirements (steel cap boots, high visibility clothing, safety glasses, hard hats)
    • Presentation of valid identification if required
  • Travellers who do not meet safety requirements may be denied access without refund.
  • Some areas may be restricted due to operational conditions, weather, or safety protocols.
  • Travellers agree to comply with specific PPE and site access terms stipulated by any of the sites to be visited.

6. Travel Insurance

  • Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and it is the responsibility of tour participants to arrange the necessary insurance.
  • We recommend the insurance should cover medical expenses, evacuation, trip cancellation, lost luggage, and personal liability.

7. Health, Safety & Risk

  • Mining environments involve inherent risks. Travellers participate at their own risk.
  • The operator is not liable for injuries, illness, loss, or damage arising from:
    • Natural events
    • Mine site operations
    • Third party suppliers
    • Traveller negligence
    • Activities undertaken independently of the tour
  • Some activities may require signed waivers or additional safety declarations.

8. Accommodation & Transportation

  • Accommodation standards may vary by region and may differ from those in the traveller’s home country.
  • Transport times are estimates and may vary due to weather, traffic, or operational issues.

9. Itinerary Variations

  • The operator may adjust the itinerary for safety, weather, or mine site operational reasons.
  • Optional activities are not included unless specifically stated.

10. Personal Belongings

  • Travellers are responsible for their own belongings at all times.
  • The operator is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

11. Liability

  • To the extent permitted by law, the operator’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the tour.
  • The operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.

12. Force Majeure

  • The operator is not liable for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events outside its control, including:
    • Natural disasters
    • Industrial action
    • Mine site shutdowns
    • Political unrest
    • Pandemics
    • Government actions
  • Refunds or credits in such circumstances are at the operator’s discretion.

13. Photography & Media

  • Photography may be restricted on mine sites for safety or commercial reasons.
  • Travellers must comply with all site specific photography rules.
  • The operator may take photos or videos during non restricted parts of the tour for promotional purposes unless travellers opt out in writing.

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is registered.

Payment
